It's good we managed to win the series so convincingly without Root having to bail us out at least once.

Loved the appointment of McCullum...but wasn't over convinced by the summer....being behind in every game and requiring a succession of record 4th innings chases isn't necessarily a recipe for long term success (or so i thought).
This was different level. The seamers - the GOAT, Robinson & Wood - were outstanding, Leach plugged away and Ahmed looks a real find.
And the batting....Brook and Duckett were absolutely immense. Bigger tests for Duckett to come, he's an outstanding player of spin, but delighted for him.
A word, then on county cricket (and M4E) - gets the blame after every series defeat, absolute silence when it produces our two leading run scorers in a record breaking tour. Not surprising, but more than a little ridiculous.

My thoughts westside are thank fuck we binned the useless surrey cunts at the top of the order.
Still bigger tests to come, but the lads who have come in seem to have bigger bollocks for test batting and that means a lot, as isn't always class that counts in test cricket.
Phenomenal tour, superb and stokes and Brendan deserve serious credit.

After England's form at home, mid summer, I posted saying there were signs of improvement, despite having just lost a test. The post was widely attacked. e.g.
"After a break from those 4 Tests (4 wins on the bounce), it's back to the old routine. You dine out on 4 Tests though, mate."
What are people's feelings, after nine wins out of ten and the first ever white wash of Pakistan at home (by any team)?
